My client is an independent media organisation with 1,000 staff.
It is headquartered in London and has 27 offices in the world’s principal commodity trading and production centres.
Companies in 140 countries around the world use my clients data to index physical trade and as benchmarks in financial derivative markets as well as for analysis and planning purposes.
What will you be doing?
- We are currently looking for a passionate, driven and energetic Manager (based on prior experience) to support our Consulting biofuels practice.

- You will work on a range of biofuels market research topics and will have the opportunity to take ownership of a strategic product in our portfolio of biofuels subscriptions, working alongside analysts in the team that will support data development, modelling and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead research on select biofuels topics to provide input to my client’s off-the-shelf biofuels analytical reports
- Coordinate analysis and the development of data sets and models to support the forecasting of supply, demand, capacity, imports and exports, price and production costs for key biofuels and renewable fuels and feedstocks
- Liaise with my clients staff to ensure current knowledge of my clients products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across biofuels and other commodity markets
- Work with commodity analysts and reporters around the globe to extract maximum value out of data collected across the organisation and to deliver integrated analysis
- Drive the development and commercialisation of new data-driven products
Skills and Experience
- Biofuels / renewable energy industry experience, most likely gained in either: Consulting
- Analytical role for a major energy company or energy research organisation
- Energy analyst role in a financial services organisation
- Educated to degree level (2.1 or above) from a leading university.
- Highly numerate, with experience analysing large datasets with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus
- Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of structuring and leading projects
- Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadline and to meet targets
- Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of my client’s biofuels research
