Company Description: Leading energy brokerage firm specialising in the trading of gas and power commodities. Will look at someone from other Commodities

Job Description: As a Commodity Broker, you will be responsible for facilitating transactions and providing strategic advice to clients in the power markets. You will leverage your expertise in market analysis, negotiation skills, and industry knowledge to help clients achieve their energy procurement goals and manage risk effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis: Monitor power market trends, including supply and demand dynamics, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors. Analyze market data to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
  2. Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique energy needs and objectives. Provide personalized advice and recommendations to help clients optimize their energy procurement strategies.
  3. Transaction Execution: Execute power transactions on behalf of clients, negotiating favorable terms and pricing. Ensure timely and accurate completion of transactions, adhering to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  4. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with energy trading activities, including price volatility, credit risk, and operational risk. Develop risk management strategies to protect clients’ interests and optimize portfolio performance.
  5. Industry Research: Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the power sector. Share insights and best practices with clients to help them stay ahead of the curve.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in energy trading, preferably with a focus on commodity markets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing energy markets, including compliance requirements and reporting obligations.
