Full Description
Primarily responsible for the management and execution of overall marketing and trading contract processes, including the reporting and maintenance of relevant records and databases.
Responsibilities
Contracts
- Prepare, revise and develop marketing and trading contracts (using existing templates and drafting/customising as required).
- Negotiate contracts with counterparties, review terms (gain approval where required to determine appropriate terms and conditions of contracts).
- Follow up of contracts and liaise with counterparties for the contract counters.
- Oversee execution and distribution of documents.
- Manage the contract tendering process, including participation (use existing templates or draft/customise as required)
- Track and log all related correspondence and contracts
- Assist Credit/Risk department to monitor and ensure all the contracts and amendments are updated in the system
Records, Maintenance & Updates
- Manage the execution and filing of internal contracts and any amendments between entities
- Manage memberships and subscriptions with Exchanges and data providers
- Manage annual renewal of Master Service Agreements – review/negotiate terms (if required) and co- ordinate execution
- Update and maintain electronic files of all relevant documents produced during the course of negotiation
- Update and maintain information schedules of specific counterparty contract terms
- Update cargo checklist with information on contract terms, responses, co-load amendments, letter of credit and credit approvals
- Maintain electronic files of marketing and trading templates
- Liaise with relevant groups to coordinate a consistent central record of marketing documents, providing copies where necessary
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or another related subject
- Legal/ contract experience would be an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Familiar with the energy/commodity trading markets
- Strong analytical skills, and knowledge of financial instruments
- Familiarity with documentary credits and issuance process
- Technical knowledge of contracts related to the Commodities industry
- Excellent communication skills including negotiation skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships, based on influence and professional competence, internally and externally
