Demurrage Claims Analyst

Full Description

Join a Global Oil Trading company and play a crucial role in managing claims and demurrage processes. Collaborate with Commercial, Trading, and Finance teams to ensure timely execution of all demurrage claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage and file all demurrage claims for both Shipping and Cargo.
• Review loading and discharge time logs to identify demurrage cases.
• Submit demurrage claims to suppliers and receivers according to purchase and sale contracts.
• Review and counter claims from suppliers and receivers based on purchase and sale contracts or charter parties.
• Review and counter claims from owners based on charter parties.
• Maintain data in the Bridge system and send payable and receivable notices.
• Assist the contract or chartering team in countering terms related to demurrage to enhance maritime and commercial awareness and minimize company exposure.
• Report overdue claims to the team leader and escalate to the legal department.
• Train and coach new team members in demurrage procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the company based on business needs.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level qualification.
• Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teamwork abilities, with a proactive attitude towards accountability and problem-solving.
• Eager to learn and share knowledge and skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and generally IT literate.
• Experience with demurrage claims.
